Introduction
Amy Flowerdew is a supporting protagonist of Samantha’s Quest: Isles of Galerock. Opposite to her silent younger sister, Samantha, Amy is a talkative 21–year–old girl who works as a part-time hair-dresser and singer.
Amy is a Christian who attends church regularly with Samantha. Due to her intense passion for adventure, Amy drags Samantha along with her to see a portal leading to the Isles of Galerock.
After accidentally falling in, thereby forcing Samantha to go in and rescue her, Amy unintentionally becomes the reason why Samantha is chosen to wield the Golden Jubilee Blade.
Appearance
Amy has fair skin and straight brown-coloured hair that has a slight reddish tint and a wavy fringe. Amy’s hair is long and extends down to her waist, flowing loosely at the back. She has ocean blue eyes.
Amy’s outfit consists of an orange sleeveless collared top, a blue mid-length skirt, and black heeled sandals. Her outfit is complete with a red headband just behind the top of her fringe.
Amy’s outfit stands out for its complimentary colours: orange and blue. It exudes a warm, relaxed, and fun presence with the bright colours. Amy’s appearance screams: “We’re going on an adventure, and you’re coming with me!”
Personality
Amy is talkative, adventurous, friendly, energetic, and fun. In other words: she’s the life of the party. While it’s true that Amy’s impulsive love for adventure can get both herself and others into trouble, she nevertheless means well, and others can’t help but love her for bringing joy and laughter into their lives.
This is especially seen with Amy spending the entirety of episodes 1 and 2 trying to convince poor Samantha to enter the portal with her, despite Samantha’s adamant refusal. This, in turn, makes Amy’s dramatic complaint that Samantha ignored her when rushing into the portal to save Clara all the more hilarious (episode 7).
Amy’s friendly, energetic, and fun side is seen in her not wanting to go on adventures by herself, but to share the fun with others, especially Samantha. Amy goes by the motto “the more the merrier” and is very sociable and extroverted. She is particularly hyped after seeing Riley kill the snake monsters with a fast technique, and exclaims how cool it is to Samantha.

Her friendly side is also seen in how she instantly trusts Riley after he rescues her and Samantha, and just casually talks with him, asking him lots of questions about the portals and his line of work. It’s also seen in how she expresses her desire to hug Clara again, Samantha’s quiet and shy friend (despite already having hugged her just the day before).
Amy’s talkativeness is evident the moment she’s introduced over the phone in episode 1. Amy is so excited to explain the portal to Samantha that she breezes through the conversation without even allowing Samantha to get a word in edgewise before ending the call.
On the rare occasions that Samantha has tried to actually speak so far, Amy always interrupts her before she’s able to say anything. This is not out of rudeness, however, but rather obliviousness. This is especially the case in episode 4 when Riley asks Samantha for her name, Samantha opens her mouth to actually answer out loud, but Amy quickly interrupts and speaks on her behalf, praising Samantha for being a genius, clearly showing her love for Samantha, despite unintentionally silencing her.
Amy’s love for Samantha is most clearly shown when she stands between her and the snakes, urging Samantha to run while she distracts them. It’s a rare moment where her usual cheery energy gives way to something deeper—a self-sacrificial love that reveals just how deeply she cares.
Role in the Story
Amy is a major character throughout the series. Being Samantha’s sister who regularly hangs out with her, it can be said that Amy is the person who is closest to Samantha.
Although Amy’s overt enthusiasm and persistent attitude can come close to driving Samantha insane at times, it’s clear that Amy’s presence is important in Samantha’s life. Amy is the one who fills Samantha’s silence and stoicism with words and emotion.
If Samantha is the soul of the pair, then Amy is the heart. Amy is there to make sure that all her friends and loved ones know that they matter, and that they have fun along the way—whether they like it or not!
