Introduction
Clara Agneson is a supporting protagonist of Samantha’s Quest: Isles of Galerock. She’s a shy 18-year-old girl who recently graduated high school and has applied for zoology in university, despite her emotionally abusive father’s protests.
Clara is a Christian and attends church each week with Samantha, Amy, Lucinda, and Maya. After Clara gets a difficult call from her father at Cafe Connoisseur, Samantha and Lucinda walk with Clara to her father’s house, where she sees what her father wants.
After an intense encounter, Clara leaves in tears, and is then captured by an evil individual, who sends her into one of the portals. Samantha and Lucinda go in to rescue her, while Amy calls for Riley.
Appearance
Clara has fair skin, straight long brown-coloured hair, and a fringe. Her hair is long and extends down to her waist. She has earth brown eyes.
Clara wears a mid-length navy blue short-sleeved dress, with a black trim tied around her waist, with Mary Jane shoes and dark grey stockings. Clara has a modest, humble appearance. She wears conservative colours that don’t stand out, much like her introverted personality. Her outfit is versatile enough to work well in practically any environment.
Clara’s simple and slightly formal clothing choice reflects a simple, innocent, and pure soul. Clara doesn’t want to stand out, but she doesn’t need to. Those who know Clara know her kindness—a kindness that has endured despite the abuse she has faced behind the scenes. And this stands out loud and clear for everyone to see.
Personality
Clara is very shy, but sweet. She is also reserved, quiet, humble, and kind. Clara is the most introverted of the main characters, and finds it difficult to make friends or talk with new people. Nevertheless, thanks to Samantha, she’s formed a tight-knit friendship with Lucinda, Maya, Amy, and especially Samantha—her current housemates.
Due to Clara’s troubled home life, where her father was—and still is—emotionally abusive towards her and overly controlling, Clara has spent most of her life feeling lonely and sad, and at one point she had no friends. This changed when Samantha approached her one day at school to comfort her and accept her for who she is. Since then, Clara and Samantha have been close friends, and Clara has been able to get on well with other people also (revealed in a memory in episode 7).

Clara considers Samantha to be her best friend, and at one point, described her as her only true friend, and the only one who truly understands her (episode 7). As a result, Clara deeply admires Samantha, and looks up to her as a strong mentor figure. Clara acknowledges Samantha’s intelligence, and wishes she were as smart as her (despite Samantha insisting that she is smart also, in episode 6).
Clara has always been a gentle soul, who very rarely gets angry, and is always soft and kind toward others, even if she isn’t treated well. Her love for animals comes from the fact that she’s always found it easy to connect with them, much more than people (episode 6)
Although Clara has a low self-esteem, and her father actively opposes her commitment to studying zoology (considering her a failure and disappointment) Clara is nevertheless committed to continuing with her studies and not giving up (episode 7). This shows that despite her low self-esteem, Clara has an incredibly strong will and is much stronger than she thinks.
Role in the Story
Clara has an important role in the story, being among Samantha’s closest friends, and someone whom Samantha looks after emotionally. Although Clara starts off as more of a supportive, background character, her emotional arc in the story plays a central role in the series, and is both a source of conflict, as well as a source of redemption and renewal for her and her friends.

- Clara’s first ever friend in life is Samantha Flowerdew, who approached Clara when she was sad one day and comforted her. The two have been close friends ever since.
